Library Rules
General Rules
- The library is a place for self-study and research; members should maintain a healthy and peaceful environment.
- An identity card is mandatory for entering the library.
- Before entering the library, a user must sign into the gate register.
- Personal belongings: - e.g., bags, suitcases, umbrellas, etc., must be kept at the property counter. However, individual books, periodicals, and loose paper are allowed with prior notice from the library staff.
- Eatable items (biscuits, cookies, fruits, chocolates, cold drinks, tea/coffee, etc.) are strictly prohibited in the library. Only non-disposable water bottles are allowed.
- Newspaper (s) should be folded properly after reading and returned to the designated place.
- Sleeping and gossiping are strictly prohibited inside the library.
- Users should not deface, mark, cut, mutilate, or damage library material in any way. Anyone found doing so will be charged with the full replacement cost of the damaged material.
- Chairs, tables, and other library equipment, fittings, and furniture should not be marked, defaced, or disarranged.
- Users should not carry books from one floor to another. They should leave the books on the reading table after use.
- Users must be respectful to staff and other patrons.
- Users violating the library's rules shall be liable to forfeit the privileges of the library and its services, and their membership is liable for termination.
- Security cameras have been installed in reading rooms to protect library materials and ensure the safety of patrons and staff.
- Patrons are advised not to leave their books/study material / personal belongings on the study table/space unattended for more than two hours.
