The authors of this book make an earnest attempt to explore the business of railway hawking, the participants i.e. the railway hawkers themselves and their way of conducting the business of railway hawking in the context of North Eastern Region of India. Many unlicensed and licensed hawkers earn their livelihood by this trade. The book forms its base for the study by an introduction to the marginalized sector scenario over the global and national context while drawing references of varied studies and opinions of authors, subsequently discussing the objectives, purpose and flow of the study. Eventually, forming a conceptual framework, the literature of the study gets enumerated and finally the chapters discussing the objectives and their findings follow with concluding summaries. There were many challenges and limitations on conducting the study. However, the blended experience of travel and exploration on such a challenging topic was adventurous and enlightening at the same time. | ||
